 Céline Voccia (piano)\, and Matthias Bauer (double bass)\, forms a powerfu
 lly cohesive unit that skillfully weaves its respective instruments togeth
 er and balances itself sonically with freshness and finesse. The three mus
 icians maintain a constant level of musical tension while simultaneously e
 xploring a wide range of approaches to free jazz. Delicate murmurs sit alo
 ngside raw pointillism\, and quieter\, introspective passages are compleme
 nted by stretches of rigorous forward drive. Céline Voccia is a french pia
 nist\, composer and improviser in the Free Jazz scene in Berlin. She studi
 ed classical piano at the Geneva Conservatory and jazz music and improvisa
 tion in Paris and Berlin. Her music is a fusion of the jazz vernacular wit
 h classical piano technique\, thus culminating in an abstraction of contem
 porary music with Free Jazz. Having been influenced by the likes of Olivie
 r Messiaen and Toru Takemitsu\, Céline Voccia belongs to the circles of Ne

 azz saxophone in Cologne with Frank Gratkowski\, in Vienna with Klaus Dick
 bauer and in London with Jean Toussaint. From 2008 to 09\, she lived in Lo
 ndon\, pursued a Master’s degree at City University/Guildhall School of Mu
 sic and Drama. During this year she became a member of the London Improvis
 ers Orchestra (L.I.O.) and the group Splatter and played with musicians fr
 om the not applicable network and label. Since returning to live in Berlin
  she has been establishing the Berlin Improvisers Orchestra (which include
 s musicians from the L.I.O.) and regularly plays with international guest

 layer\, improviser and composer based in Berlin. He is specialised in cont
 emporary music\, performed a large repertoire of solo compositions for dou
 ble bass and is working with Berlin based new music ensembles. He performe
