Cologne trombonist Matthias Muche is not only a virtuosic musician, but a visionary composer who recognised the rich timbral and harmonic possibilities when twelve trombones unite. BONECRUSHER explores meticulously controlled massed drones, dynamic counterpoint, and brassy ebullience, with the ensemble working more or less as a single, multi-limbed organism capable of balancing several thrilling threads at once. The group’s sound will be magnified and enhanced by the reverberant confines of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.
